For PAMS 2026, the process of structuring sessions will follow this framework:
After receiving all submitted titles and abstracts in February–March 2026, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will analyze and cluster them into approximately 10 thematic groups (sessions), guided by research focus and relevance.
Subsequently, session conveners and chairpersons will be appointed by the LOC from its membership. This approach ensures sessions are closely aligned with submitted content, fostering focused, timely discussions rooted in the year’s research contributions.
Once sessions are finalized, relevant information will be presented as follows:

Description
(example)The Pacific - Asian marginal seas are home to diverse and fragile marine ecosystems that play a crucial role in global biodiversity and climate regulation. In recent decades, these ecosystems have been increasingly impacted by climate variability, including rising sea temperatures, changing ocean currents, and ocean acidification.
About 70% of the world's coral reefs in the Pacific - Asian region are already showing signs of stress due to elevated sea temperatures, with coral bleaching events becoming more frequent and severe. Additionally, changes in ocean circulation patterns are altering the distribution of nutrients, which in turn affects the productivity of fisheries - a vital resource for millions of people in the region.
This session aims to explore the complex interactions between climate variability and marine ecosystems in Pacific - Asian marginal seas. We will discuss topics such as how coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangrove forests are adapting (or struggling to adapt) to changing environmental conditions. Presentations will also cover the impacts on marine food webs, from plankton to top predators, and the implications for sustainable fisheries management.
